Microsoft was facing a tough competition from Apple while it was making WindowsXP. The theme itself is described as a “Whistler skin with eye candy,” and marked as for internal use only,” as per the report by The Verge. “Windows developers appear to have used the theme as a placeholder to build the theme engine for Windows XP. The source code of Windows XP and Server 2003 recently got leaked and was posted on several file sharing platforms. The information about Microsoft having created it’s very own Aqua interface for Windows XP got revealed from the recent Windows XP source code leaks. Of course, Microsoft never revealed that theme and was mostly used as part of the early source code of Windows XP. As per a report by The Verge, Microsoft had created a theme for Windows XP which looked similar to Apple's Aqua interface back in 2000. Microsoft reportedly had made a theme for Windows XP to make its interface look similar to the Mac.
